quickly unlock the phone or log in to a third-party app, but
"soon" the iris of the eye could be used to perform the same
tasks than touch ID.
Indeed, according to a new report from the DigiTimes site, Apple plans to
lanceran iPhone with iris recognition technology
2018.
However, the Cupertino company could be overtaken by Samsung, because
there is a good chance that the next Galaxy Note 7 will integrate technology
retinal scan, and this smartphone should be unveiled next month.
However, although iris recognition has advantages because it
would unlock the smartphonesans contact
physiquewith this one, it also includesof the
disadvantages.
Retinal scanner performance may not work well
in low light situation, moreover the iris can be
affected by different behaviors, like consumption
alcohol or even dilation of the eye.
Renowned KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggested a little more
earlier this year that iris recognition would arrive in the iPhone instead
2017, and it is more reliable than the DigiTimes site regarding future
Apple products.
