Updated Dec 22: after a first encouraging tweet regarding Apple Pay support in mid-December, Crédit Mutuel then indicated that this was not the case... Details in the following
At the end of the year, it seems that the various French banks are “accelerating” the adoption of Apple Pay. The last to join thelist of compatible French bankswith Apple Pay,is Crédit du Nord.
Among the next to join this list, the BNP Paribas groupannouncedthat it was going to happen soon. The same goes for HSBC, even though we've been hearing rumors about it for a long time.
Here's a new one that's working (or not, see update at the end of the article) on Apple Pay support, theCredit Mutuel.
Crédit Mutuel communicated on its Twitter account that its teamsworking to add support for Apple Payfor customers. We imagine that the French bank should appear shortly in the “coming soon” section.on the Apple Pay pagefrom the Apple website.
We are working on it right now 😉
Beautiful evening.

Thelatest bank that joined this section, is HSBC, suggesting that this should happen soon for customers of this financial institution.

Updated December 22: funny cacophony on the subject... Indeed after the tweet above, still available, Crédit Mutuel carried out a total retropedal by publishinganother tweetwhich contradicts the previous one. It is indicated there:
“Hello, we are sorry for the misunderstanding but our group's response remains. The conditions for a partnership are not met today. We are working on a solution that works on all types of smartphones that we could offer to our customers.”

Given the much more traditional and formal content of this last exchange, there is little chance that Apple Pay support will be on the agenda for the months to come for Crédit Mutuel customers...
