We are now three days away from the launch of WWDC 2021. This Monday at 7 p.m., you will be able tofollow the Keynote with usDuring this virtual event, Apple is expected to make a number of announcements. You will also findour dedicated article on this subject.
Among these potential new features, we hear a lot about the possible release of 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pros redesigned for the occasion. According toDaniel Ives from Wedbush, that will indeed be the case. The two laptops could thus feature a thinner and lighter chassis, and the Apple brand should also remove the Touch Bar.
A smaller battery but better autonomy?
This idea takes on a little more depth today thanks to the information unearthed byMacRumorsin a database in China. This listing from Apple supplier Sunwoda Electronic is for a battery with an Apple model ID A2527 rated at 8,693 mAh/11.45V. That's exactly the same figure as the battery in the current 16-inch MacBook Pro, which is rated at 8,790 mAh/11.36V.
Assuming that this data is accurate, this provides us with new information on the next 16-inch MacBook Pro which would have a slightly lower battery capacity than the existing model. However, and as our colleagues point out, autonomy could be greater thanks to the transition from Intel processors to M1 chips.
In the process, potential information about the MacBook Pro 14 was also leaked from the same supplier. It could offer a slightly larger battery than the 13-inch MacBook Pro thanks to its new chassis.
Of course, this news must be viewed with great caution. We may know more this Monday, if Apple formalizes the launch. In any case, it must be remembered that you canfollow the conference live in text on iPhon.frthis Monday from 7 p.m. You will also subsequently find our dedicated articles concerning the main announcements of the apple brand.
