The iPad 10 is the real news this week at Apple

Apple took advantage of this Tuesday evening to present three new products. In addition to the expected iPad Pro M2, Apple launched a new version of the Apple TV 4 K. Even less expensive than the previous one, it competes with third-party solutions with this new price.

But the big news of the evening is the iPad 10. The device has a completely new design, with a screen without a central button. This allows it to gain a few centimeters, going from 10.2 to 10.9 inches. Equipped with the A14 chip, present in the iPhone 12, the device also has the right to a USB-C connection port. This was the last iPad with a Lightning port.

The camera on the side, the detail that changes everything

Another big change in how this iPad is going to be used is the position of the camera. By placing the latter on the right side of the iPad, Apple “forces” the user to use the tablet in landscape mode and not in portrait mode.

A choice which is clearly made to leave room forMagic Keyboardunder the tablet and thus make it a hybrid between tablet and computer. A keyboard that alone costs €249 on Apple's online store.

In addition to these new features, this iPad 10 was announced as a very colorful product. Apple seeks to please young people with this product and find a place in classrooms, long the preserve of Apple.

A price (too) high to be popular?

The last big difference between the iPad 9 and iPad 10 is price. Both tablets are available in 64 GB versions, but the price is irrelevant. The iPad 9 is now sold by Apple for €439, which is €150 less than the iPad 10. Pre-orders for the tablet have opened, but at this price the tablet might not find a buyer.

The classic iPad, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil combo brings the bill to around €1000, all for a tablet that only has 64 GB of storage when in the same price range there are products like the MacBook Air M1.

The iPad 10 will be delivered in France from October 26, release dated'iPadOS 16and its flagship Stage Manager feature.
