It's hard to miss: the keyboard of MacBook Pros with M1 Pro processor is nowbelted in black, giving it a united appearance which is similar to that ofthe eponymous accessory for iPad. The backlighting therefore contrasts even more, which is very practical in the middle of the night.
A few touches of change
As on the similar product released with the twenty-four-inch iMac, the Magic Keyboard of the MacBook Pro 2021 has a buttonTouch ID. All you have to do is put your fingerprint on it to pay for an online purchase, validate a modification to the register or simply unlock the computer. This is located at the top right of the keyboard, and is also used to turn on the machine.
Just opposite but at the other end, we find the escape shortcut. And between the two? No more Touch Bar! Instead of this touch screen, Apple signs here thereturn of function keys. There are twelve of them, and they also act as volume and brightness controls, not to mention access to Spotlight, voice dictation, Do Not Disturb mode and video playback controls.
Finally, the globe at the bottom left can display thecollection d’emojisin all messaging apps. Amust-have.
A more imposing format?
Good to know for those used to light travel: the new MacBook Pros are not the same size as their predecessors. We thus lose a small tenth of a millimeter in thickness between the 2020 MacBook Pro M1 and the one with a 14-inch panel, but the 16-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, has shrunk a little with 0.4 mm more. For the width, it will be 30.41 cm for the 13-inch M1 compared to 31.26 cm for the current one and 35.79 cm for the 16-inch of 2019 compared to 35.57 cm now.
As for the depth, it is 21.24 cm for the 13-inch M1 compared to 22.12 cm on the M1 Pro, while the 16-inch goes from 24.59 cm to 24.81 cm with the arrival of the Pro chip. Max. Also with a hundred grams more on the scale, compared to two hundred for the small model.
