iPhone 12 no longer receives messages?

Update :The bug described here was fixed with iOS 14.2.1 update.See the details here.

While the new iPhone 12 range presented to the public a few weeks ago is now completely available, the first bugs are reaching Tim Cook's ears. Among othersthe iPhone 12 in its “classic” versionwould encounter a problem while receiving message. Indeed, the phone would not correctly display notifications to its new owner.

The problem would also be present on the iPhone 12 Pro, but it is possible that the other two versions, the iPhone 12 mini as well as the 12 Pro Maxare also affected, their deliveries being more recent, the problem may not have yet been encountered by users.

At the moment little information is available on this subject, and there are many hypotheses as to the origin of this problem. Indeed, this lack of notifications seems to occur on both iOS 14.2 and 14.1. The problem indeed seems quite complex to resolve for the Cupertino teams.

Each user story is different, some don't receive any notifications, others only miss notifications from certain people. The messages are received, but no banner is displayed, nothing on the home screen or any sticker on the application. You have to open the application to see if any messages are pending.

Problem solved with iOS 14.3?

Will Apple's new iOS system update be enough to resolve this notification problem on the iPhone 12? Not sure. It is still difficult to identify the problem as it seems different from one user to another. Some, by resetting the network settings managed to make the bug disappear, and therefore their notifications reappear, but this option did not work 100%.

Opened in its beta version a few days ago, the new version of iOS 14 (iOS 14.3) does indeed seem to provide fixes for the messages application. It is impossible to know whether this development would actually be beneficial until the new update is offered to a wider audience.
