Currently, all eyes are on the next smartphones that Apple will announce this year, namelyiPhone SE 3but alsol’iPhone 14which should, as is now customary, be presented next September.
But that doesn't stop us from thinking about future years and some experts are already working on the iPhone 15, the release of which is scheduled for the end of 2023. According to analyst Jeff Pu, the Pro model in this range will thus be equipped with an objective with periscopic lens with a 5x optical zoom.
Better zoom quality?
The Cupertino company would be in the middle of negotiations with the company Lante Optics which would then become its main supplier for this part in this new phone. Samples have already been sent to Apple and a final decision is expected to be made by May. The stakes are high for the company and no less than 100 million components could be ordered.
Remember that this technology should make it possible to obtain a much better zoom than with current devices. Apple would thus catch up with its competitors such as Samsung and Huawei who already offer high-quality optical zoom lenses, explain our colleagues at 9to5mac.
Note that this is not the first time that rumors have reached us concerning the integration of a periscopic lens on the iPhone 15. Thus, analyst Ming-Chi Kuomentioned the same ideaa little earlier this year. The latter is often very well informed and does not talk into the air, which gives weight to this idea.
