The M4 gives wings
The M4 chip does not do anything by half measures and promises to shatter the performance of its predecessor with its four high-performance cores and its six low-consumption cores. Apple announcesa power gain of 50% compared to the M2, while halving energy consumption.
The Neural Engine is even stronger with its16 cores capable of juggling 38 trillion operations per second– almost enough to make the first generation look like a (big) calculator. On the graphics side, the GPU and its 10 cores have the luxury of supporting ray tracing (graphic technique which simulates the behavior of light to create more realistic images) and will display performance multiplied by four.
The Mac family gets a makeover
The entire range will move to the M4, Apple did not do things by halves. The MacBook Pro, the iMac and the Mac mini will be entitled to their version, with three variations of the chip to satisfy all needs. The Mac mini even gets a makeover with a new design and a generous supply of USB-C ports.
