Apple has not yet launched a Mac with an M4 chip, but benchmarks are already emerging. This Mac would have obtained the score of 3864 (in single-core) and 15288 (in multi-core). For comparison, the iPad Pro M4 has a single-core score of 3647 and a multi-core score of 13135.
With such figures, the M4 chip would be 26.7% more powerful than the M3 version. This nuance could be explained by an increase in the number of CPU cores in the chip. While the M3 chip has 8 cores, the M4 chip should have 10. The figures given above are those of the “standard” M4 chip. It should equip Apple's next Mac mini in the same way as the MacBook Pro.
The iMac for its part should have the right, from its entry-level version, to an M4 Pro chip. It will be available as an option on the new Mac mini and the MacBook Pro. All the expected characteristics are to be foundin this article.
A conference on November 1st?
Apple is expected to hold a conference on November 1 to present its new Macs. If the official announcement has not yet taken place, several sensitive information, particularly around the next MacBook Pros, have already leaked. Two Russian videographers, for example, published videos on YouTube where they appear with Apple's latest laptop.
If the leak turns out to be accurate, it could be the biggest leak in Apple's history in nearly 15 years. As a reminder, in 2010 the Apple brand had already been affected by a large-scale leak when an employee of the brand forgot an iPhone 4 prototype in a bar in California.
The media Gizmodo took the opportunity at the time to make a preview presentation of the phone. Since then, relations between the media and the Apple brand have been very bad.
