Apple announced last year that the company was transitioning to in-house processors called Silicon. We know in particular that the next MacBook Pros will feature one of these technology boxes and the Cupertino company should present them to us this fall. However, Rome was not built in a day and during this period of change, the Apple brand should always use Intel processors.
Apple has given itself two years to transition to proprietary processors
This could precisely be the case for the next Mac Pro, which is scheduled for release next year. The Chinese leaker,YuKey_AnS, known to be reliable in its rumors, has in fact explained that the company would have set its sights on Ice Lake Xeon W-3300 processors. These are particularly suitable for offices and the professional world.
Of course, you have to take this information with a grain of salt, however YuuKi_AnS is particularly known for its leaks related to Intel processors and those of workstations. Its reliability has also been little questioned until now.
Note that he is not the only one to put forward this idea either. Last June, we talked to you aboutBrendan Shanks, a Twitter user, who discovered a mention of support for Intel Ice Lake Xeon processors in the beta 1 version of the Xcode software. According to Mark Gurman, this would be a new Mac Pro, the tower intended for businesses, which has not been updated since 2019.
In the end, this would not be surprising because the Cupertino company had already announced during WWDC 2020 that the transition to 100% proprietary CPUs should take another two years. Clearly, there are successive indications of a Mac Pro running an Intel processor, but we will still have to wait several months before knowing more.
