Mac Pro: ultimately, Intel still manufacturer of the processor?

Brendan Shanks, a particularly curious Twitter user, discovered a mention of support for Intel Ice Lake Xeon scalable processors in the Beta 1 version of the Xcode software. This program, published by Apple for developers, had already almost revealed the iMac M1 several weeks ago. But this time, it is indeed a device without a stamped CPUsiliconwhich would be in the firm's pipeline.

According to Mark Gurman, it could even be the Mac Pro. The tower has in fact not been updated since 2019 while most of the other machines in its range have been renewed in recent months. This is the most powerful but also the most expensive computer found at Apple, dedicated specifically to the demanding needs of businesses, as its name suggests.

Several more months of waiting?

As a reminder, during the Worldwide Developer Conference 2020since followed by another edition, Apple had announced that the transition from CPUs to a 100% proprietary collection would take two years. It is therefore entirely possible that Macs with Intel processors will continue to see the light of day between now and 2022.

At the moment, nothing more is known about the potential Mac Pro that is on the way. However, it is very likely that if it is indeed scheduled for soon, other confidential information about it will be shared before then. Concepts, stolen photos and technical details are becoming more and more pressing as the formalizations approach, despite the secrecy held by Apple before the keynotes.
