MacBook Pro and iPad Pro from 2021 with Mini-LED technology?

For a few weeks now, the announcements around the performance of the MacBook M1s have stopped, in favor of other information, still at the level of a simple rumor for the moment. But it could well be that the next MacBook Air and Pro that Apple plans to release during 2021 will have Mini-LED backlighting technology with them.

In a new report, Digitmes in turn confirms this information. According to them, it will be the next MacBook Air and Pro, scheduled for the first of 2021, which should have this screen improvement. But these will not be the only Apple products that will be entitled to this new backlighting technology, in fact an iPad Pro with Mini-LED could arrive as early as the first quarter of 2021 again according to DigiTimes.

A 14-inch MacBook Pro?

Among Apple's suppliers, the big winners from this announcement would be Foxconn and Compal Electronics, which will take care ofthe production of Mini-LED on iPad Pros. For MacBooks, Foxconn would still be in the game, along with Quanta Computer. But according to the Taiwanese magazine, the big winner of this new generation of product would be TSMC. The company would be Apple's only partner for the production of 5nm chips on the MacBook M1 and the new iPad Pro.

Other information provided by this report, which confirms the words of Ming-Chi Kuo,the new MacBook Pro equipped with a Mini-LED screencould be redesigned and have new dimensions, around 14 inches.

The main advantage of Mini-LED technology is measured in the contrasts of the screen as well as a wide range of colors. According to Kuo, this technology will “significantly improve productivity and entertainment experience.”
