macOS 15: 4 changes we are eagerly awaiting

After the6 improvements we would dream of seeing on iPhone with the release of iOS 18, let's now see together what we would really like on macOS 15. Remember that the majority of the important new features of macOS 15 (and iOS 18, among other new iPad software, Apple TV, Apple Watch and possibly Apple Vision Pro) will be announcednext Monday, June 10 during a Keynote. The latter will begin at 7:00 p.m. French time.

Do not hesitate to tell us in comments whether the following ideas would seem interesting to you or not and to give your list of expected additions for macOS 15.

1. A password manager worthy of the name

Keychain Access to date is one ofworst Apple apps available natively on macOS. Beyond its ultra-limited functionality, its interface is catastrophic. She has the gift of scaring away any average user, and rightly so!

And then, when you've gotten used to using 1Password, Enpass, Dashlane and other similar references, looking for a password in Keychain Access on Mac is hell. We would ask Apple 3 things to get off on the right foot with Keychain Access: a modernized interface, support for tags and non-display by default of all keys and passwords automatically saved by Mac apps and services ( and whose deletion or editing can sometimes cause big problems…).

2. Reminders visible in Calendar

Apple Calendar and Reminders are not bad solutions for managing events and tasks. But as several alternatives already do it, and brilliantly (BusyCal, Fantastical and others), we would benefit from the possibility ofview your reminder tasks in the Calendar app. And even the opposite! Like Things, why notmake calendar events visible in your Reminders lists?

3. New triggers for Shortcuts

Shortcuts is an application with enormous potential. Unfortunately, it is still sometimes necessary to add third-party solutions to compensate for its shortcomings (Shortery, Apple Script, Automator, Keyboard Maestro, Alfred, etc.). This is particularly the case when it comes to triggers. With macOS 15, I would like the app to have new possibilities at this level and for a shortcut to be able to launch according to:

  • Adding a file to a folder
  • A file update in a folder
  • The time
  • Mouse position on screen

And you ?

4. Make “Hide My Email” More Convenient

“Hide my email” is a feature accessible from the iCloud+ plan at €0.99 per month. It allows you togenerate email aliases at will, aliases that all redirect to your primary email address. This is very practical to avoid finding your email address in darknet databases following massive hacks of widely used web services (Trello,LinkedIn,Facebook…).

As it stands, “Hide my email” works fine. However, it sorely lacks possibilities fororganize all your account. We also dream of the possibility of personalizing aliases as SimpleLogin or addy.io can do, two services seen inour article on alternatives to Apple’s “Hide my email”. For example, for your Amazon account, you would personalize the alias as follows to better remember and find it: amazon-*uncodepersonnel*@icloud.com and/or with the tags #amazon and #shopping.

Bonus: AI, yes, but well dosed and above all private

This year, as you have understood, AI is everywhere. And on macOS, as on iOS, it should arrive soon. So yes, we could make great use of AI to facilitate translations, writing, or even certain actions on our Mac. It would be a great help for coding an Apple Script, for example, or assembling a Shortcuts. But beware of our private life! AIs are known to bereal data vacuums. It's up to Apple to achievefind the right balancebetween respect for user data and the performance of its AI technologies

Bonus 2: Safari functional again

Since I updated my Mac to Sonoma (macOS 14), Safari and all third-party WebKit-based browsers (Orion and DuckDuck Go in particular) suffer from the same problem: after a while, the mouse click finds himselfoffset from cursor position.

It's extremely annoying, which made me install Firefox. However, Safari is a software that I like... Or that I liked at least, until this problem appeared. Moreover, no minor update of macOS 14 has been able to correct the situation. We therefore hope to see macOS 15 cure WebKit, without causing other dysfunctions at the same time… Fingers crossed!

It's up to you to give us 5 new features that you would like to see appear in macOS 15.
