Last night, Apple launched the 7th beta version for iOS 15. At the same time, the firm deployed one of the key new features of its next iCloud+ service which should be launched alongside iOS 15 and replace existing iCloud plans. This is the possibility ofpersonalize a domain name for your email address.
In short, by subscribing to iCloud+, you will benefit from various advantages (describedhere, iCloud+ paragraph), one of which will allow you to have an email address such as: [email protected], or [email protected].
This functionality is already in place in test version. Follow the steps below to access the setting:
- Go toiCloud beta site
- Go to “Account Settings” by clicking on the account name at the top right of the screen

- Scroll down until you find “Custom email domain”

This is where each iCloud+ subscriber can configureup to 5 personalized email domains. For each of these domains, 3 email addresses can be defined, for the user and for each member of the family if family sharing is activated. For example, you can have a domain with your last name, Dupont, and configure 3 @dupont.com addresses for you:
- [email protected]: personal address
- [email protected]: professional address
- j888@dupont: address to use for newsletters, e-commerce sites, web services, etc., which you can delete as soon as it receives too many unwanted emails
This is a welcome feature for managing emails. It will be reserved for iCloud+ subscribers. Remember that iCloud+ plans should bedisplayed at the same pricesthan the current iCloud packages, since they will replace the latter, with more benefits for the subscriber.
Could this custom email domain feature tempt you to sign up for iCloud+?
