According to a new report issued by the firm
market analysisKGI Securitiesand his star employee
Ming Chi Kuo, wireless charging may not be possible
confined to the high-end model among the three new iPhones which would be
revealed this year. It could be, according to sources, that the two iPhones
developments of the current iPhone 7, and the iPhone 8, supposed to bring important
changes and celebrating 10 years of the iPhone, may all 3 be
recharged remotely:
Kuo also adds that the components underlying this technology
wireless charging could causesignificant increase in prices
upcoming iPhones. The reason is simple, the installation allows the
wireless charging in the iPhone would heat up much more than an installation for
classic wired charging, hence the need to find technical means
pourcontain this emitted heat and dissipate it.
Apple would have integrated a graphite layer for these purposes between the components
and in particular to protect the cells of the 3D Touch. In the same way, the
Glass construction normally expected for the iPhone 8 wouldn't help as much
than aluminum in heat dissipation, hence notable efforts
made at the design level to limit the rise in temperature.
The other side of the coin is an impact on the manufacturing cost and therefore on the
resale price is to be expected, not only for the iPhone 8, but
also for the so-called “iPhone 7s” iPhone which will accompany the 8 model.
After having buried the Jack on the iPhone, Apple would therefore continue in its
cable elimination strategy with the introduction of wireless charging
thread. See you in the fall to see if KGI Securities was right.
