No Thunderbolt 4 on new MacBooks

Yesterday during the “One more thing” conference, Apple presented three new Macs, two MacBooks, an Air and a Pro, as well as a new Mac mini. The main evolution of these computers compared to the previous generation istheir manufacturer processor designed and designated by Apple, the M1.

Thanks to their new architecture, they offer much better results than the Intel processors which were previously used by Apple in its computers.

In this new generation of Mac no other major changes. If the MacBook Air keyboard has undergone some slight changes, they are on the other side of secondary school. Apart from this point of detail, nothing differentiates a MacBook Air or Pro with the M1 processor from those released last year or in March, with Intel processors.

Always a 3.5 jack on the right side of the computer, and always two USB-C ports on the left side. But while Intel had presented Thunderbolt 4 technology, Apple has not decided to integrate it into these new MacBooks. They will therefore have Thunderbolt 3 ports.

The difference between the two elements is not huge, as they can both provide 40 Gb/s, but Thunderbolt 4 would bring better video or data transfer requirements according to Intel.

The new MacBook Air, Pro and Mac mini which were presented yesterday by Apple are available today. Apple has announced the first deliveries for November 17.
