If Apple is one of the most valuable and influential companies in the Western world, one might be surprised thathis current boss Tim Cookis not part of a ranking of the most inspiring tech bosses. In this list, we can find many others just as famous as him, but the fact is that Steve Jobs' replacement is not in the ranking.
Cook and Apple absent from the ranking, in favor of Musk, Bezos and others
Indeed, the online platform Hired recently produced a ranking of the most inspiring leaders in the tech sector. To create this list, it was based on a survey to which more than 3,600 workers from the sector responded between June and July. Hired was not limited to the USA, as Canadians, French and English people were also interviewed.
Here are the results of the survey launched by Hired:
- Elon Musk, co-founder and boss of Tesla and SpaceX
- Jeff Bezos, founder and boss of Amazon
- Satya Nadella, boss of Microsoft
- Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and boss of Facebook
- Jack Ma, co-founder and boss of Alibaba
- Sheryl Sandberg, COO de Facebook
- Reed Hastings, patron de Netflix
- Susan Wojcicki, boss of YouTube
- Marissa Mayer, former boss of Yahoo
- Anne Wojcicki, co-founder and boss of 23andMe
We therefore logically notice the absence of Tim Cook in a list where all these people are particularly well-known in the technology sector. As a reminder, Hired had also produced a ranking of tech companies for employees working in the sector.
For now, Apple is very present in the latter, because it occupies third place, ahead of Google and Netflix. We also find companies like Microsoft, Tesla, Slack and Facebook. For non-listed companies, Airbnb, SpaceX and WeWork are also among the companies considered attractive.
