Last summer,we had you
presentedl’app Flightradar24
available here on the App Storewhich allows you to follow the journey of friends and
loved ones, to visualize the same flight as theirs but carried out a few days
before, this as if we were there. Here's another one that goes even further
loin.
His name,Plane Finder 3D, this allowsfollow
augmented reality flightsin his living room displaying the
3D view of planeswhich are currently flying over the ground
virtual geography.
The app allows you to follow air traffic around the world and search for a
precise flight to know where it is by entering the flight number,
the airport or even the location. The presentation is displayed by default
and 3D.
It is thus possible to manipulate the terrestrial globe and zoom in to see
the planes which are flying, then pressing on one of them allows
to obtain more information such as their destination or the
airline, without forgetting the trajectory in 3D view.
But since its very last update, Plane Finder 3D exploits
alsoARKitto offer a view in reality
increased which allows you to transform the floor or the living room table into a portion of
photo-realistic map above which the user can see the planes
positioned at their current flight location.
It is then possible to turn around, approach, change angle,
all anywhere, in 3D. An original and impressive use of
virtual reality which gives the impression of living the futuristic films of ago
only a few years!
The app is available on iPhone and iPad and has no in-app purchases
nor advertising. It can also communicate with the original version named
Plane Finder and available here, which provides more details on each
flight but does not integrate 3D view and Augmented Reality.
Plane Finder 3D is available here on the App Storeat the price of €5.49
