Apple's “Maps” is winning against Google Maps

Apple Maps is the native navigation application from the Apple brand. It is historically in competition with Google's "Maps" solution, presented as native for smartphones on Android. But on iPhones too, Google Maps has a comfortable base.

However, the application is facing increasing competition from Apple Plans. According to a report from the prestigious Wall Street Journal, Google's lead is slimmer than ever. The title notably interviewed Jane Natoli, a young woman presented in the article as a “power user” of Google Maps. Despite this liability, she readily admits that she uses Apple Plans more and more in her daily life.

Apple Plans: simple and effective

A view shared by a recent Georgia Tech graduate. He sharedWSJhis love for the native Apple application. When the journalist asks them why they prefer Apple Plans, the answer is similar.“Apple is really good at making things prettier, easier to see.”

What stands out when using Apple Maps is how easy it is for the user to navigate the app. The choice of a route is clear, and the indications are more and more numerous. The app would also have a head start when it comes to public transport journeys.

For several weeks it has been possible to use Apple Maps in France to take a bike trip. Although the functionality has not yet been able to be tested in depth in France, it has already proven itself in other countries around the world where it has been present for longer.

Apple has come a long way

The history of Apple Plans is not, however, a long, quiet river. In fact, the application had a very complicated start when it was launched in 2012. The latter was so poorly thought out that it pushed neo-CEO Tim Cook to the forefront. He then had to present a public apology on behalf of Apple, a great first for Apple.

At the time, many analysts questioned the choice to appoint Tim Cook as head of Apple, ensuring that the latter did not have the shoulders for such a role. Moreover, according to these same analysts, he would soon pack up. More than 10 years later, the story has taken a completely different turn.
