Why is Apple moving to a new office?

San Jose, California. The capital of Silicon Valley is renowned for welcoming the elite of startups and firms that reign in the world of Tech. So much so thatthe price of real estate there has simply exploded, making the purchase or rental for individuals much more complicated than in land.

But forApple, this is not a problem: the company indeed has substantial assets, and can therefore afford almost everything it wants, includingprivate jet trips for its CEO. Today, we learned that a large new premises is becoming part of its assets…

10 times smaller than Apple Park

Located at 5300 Stevens Creek Boulevard, the “Triangle Building” offers more than 26,000 square meters of developable space and was built in 1981. It has, as its name suggests, a three-sided geometric shape and would have already been occupied by Apple before, before other companies like Freescale (semiconductors) or Merrill Lynch (bank) develop their employees there.

It is not known if the previous tenants were let go or if they remained in their offices, butworksof scale over six floors have already been undertaken. Local media even claim to have noticed logos on site. Unfortunately, we do not know what pushed Apple to make such an investment, when its Park is already immense.

But the firm always makes more moneyextendsday by day, which means she may be hiring new employees and they need more space. Otherwise, big names in the region like Alphabet tend to separate their still “secret” activities (calledmoonshots) of the rest of their teams: should we see it as a new project like the Apple Car or its augmented reality glasses in development? Maybe.
