“Alabama Bones” test: we thought we were Indiana Jones in this excellent platform game

From platform games to auto racing, there are many on the iOS App Store. But those benefiting from a beautiful finish, a sophisticated atmosphere and pretty graphics are becoming rarer. This new title, recently released on iPhone and iPad, would rather be classified among those that stand out from the crowd.

A really good platform game

Alabama Bones has many assets to appeal to all types of players, both young and old, including casual players to those we call “hardcore gamers”.

Because this novelty is above all excellent entertainment. It does not have exceptional depth. It's purely and simply a matter of avoiding traps, obstacles and enemies, by jumping, sliding, falling and climbing at the indicated locations.

Except that the hero of the game runs alone. We must therefore govern at the right times to make it progress towards the right places. Sometimes, a wrong manipulation can be fatal. The lost temple that we explore like a Game Boy Indiana Jones does not indeed forgive any errors.

The game is also really pretty, with dark graphics full of details, playing a lot on lighting effects. All this creates a mysterious atmosphere inside this sort of cursed dungeon.

Fun, above all

Alabama Bones is a game focused above all on fun. The controls are therefore very basic. Just touch the screen when you need to jump/slide/crawl, etc. It is also played perfectly with one hand, and without thinking too much.

It can then be the perfect game to relax during short games. And despite a dozen fairly easy first levels, it is not without challenges. The following ones are particularly tough, especially since to get the maximum score, you must collect, in each level, three gold totems. And these are sometimes quite difficult to access.

To conclude, we strongly advise you to try this game. You will certainly not be disappointed. Note that an advert occurs between time parts. But she's not annoying. An in-app purchase of 3.49 euros allows you to get rid of it.
