No Face ID under the screen before 2023 or 2024?
According toRoss Young, a screen expert, this rather imposing size of the sensor would in fact be due to the TrueDepth lens which is used for the proper functioning of Face ID. This requires more space than the competition, which has managed to sufficiently miniaturize its own face recognition solutions unlike Cupertino.
The analyst indeed affirmed that the infrared camera would not benot moved under the screenbefore 2023 or 2024, so not for the iPhone 14 Pro but rather for the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16 Pro. This assumption also agrees with that of Ming-Chi Kuo who is for his part convinced that Face ID will not be moved behind the screen before 2023.
