Prime Video: advertising is coming soon, how to escape it?

The news wasalready known, but it is now more concrete. From April 9, subscribersd’Amazon Prime Videowill experience an advertising break when watching films and series. If we rely on the American experience where this measure is already in place, this should last 2 to 3.5 minutes per hour.

Pay 2 euros to remove the ad

The streaming platform justified itself in an email addressed to its customers:“This will allow us to continue to invest in attractive content and increase our investments in the long term”.

But the pill is bitter, especially since it is a default decision. For those who do not intend to view these advertisements, they will have to pay an unpleasant supplement of 2 euros per month.

It will be interesting to observe the reactions of users, and to see if this leads some of them to unsubscribe. Netflix and Disney+, for their part, preferred to offer cheaper subscription plans financed by advertising.

Piracy, the big winner?

Regardless, platform customers are regularly subject to price increases and this does not seem to be ending any time soon. All of this is enough to exasperate Internet users and push them straight towards piracywhich is doing extremely well in France.
