Product Red: Apple will donate its proceeds to fight against COVID-19

For 13 years now, Apple has worked with the initiativeProduct Red. It aims to raise funds to fight HIV. Concretely, companies take over this brand and sell products under this logo. A percentage of the profits collected is then directly donated to this cause. Regarding the Cupertino company,more than $220 million has already been recoveredas part of this operation which began 13 years ago.

Apple also launches a campaign every year for a limited time, where for all participating apps, it donates all of the earnings on in-app purchases.

The new iPhone SE is part of this operation

With the ongoing crisis, Apple has decided to add the fight against the coronavirus to Product Red. The company explained this on its US site, the French site has not yet been updated:

This color makes the difference. Choose Red. Save lives. Through September 30, Apple is partnering with Red to redirect 100% of eligible revenue from Product Red purchases to the Global Fund's COVID-19 response. This will provide essential support to health systems most threatened by the epidemic and, in turn, preserve life-saving HIV/AIDS programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

The newiPhone SE, l’iPhone XR et l’iPhone 11are among the devices offered in the Red range. You will also find iPod touch, Apple Watch bracelets and many other accessories from the Apple range. So there is something to have fun, while showing solidarity.
