This is probably THE news story of the week. An American based in the suburbs of Chicago recently noticed the theft of his Subaru Forester (year 2010), before alerting the police and filing a request with his insurance. Without a second thought, the driver then takes out his iPhone and launches the Locate app. Bingo: the accessory is detected in the Northlake neighborhood, almost half an hour from its location. When he gets there, he unfortunately realizes that the tag was thrown away by the thief, and that his car is not near the store indicated by his application. Disappointed, our protagonist then decides to return home... and comes across his car on the road, right in front of him!
More fear than harm
Finally, after following his Forester, the owner calls the police and they intervene quickly. The police then extricate the young man behind the wheel, and the story ends there. While searching the Subaru for possible evidence, the authorities found drugs normally issued by prescription. The passenger compartment was also full of the smell of cannabis with numerous cigarette butts scattered on the floor.
