A charger boosted to 10W for the iPhone 8?

A few months ago, the renowned analyst
Ming-Chi Kuo asserted thatl’iPhone 8
would feature fast charging
thanks to a modified Lightning port, which
could be the same as the iPad Pro 12.9 and 10.5 inches.

A new research report from the firm Barclays supports the
statements from Ming-Chi Kuo, namely that the iPhone 8 would be sold with a
10W power adapterwith aport USB-Cet
aspecial chipallowing therecharge
fast
.

This chip supplied by the company Cypress Semiconductor would be present in
the iPhone 8 as well as the new adapter. It would be the same chip
CYPD2014 which equips the latest iPad Pro 10.5 and its big brother.

The iPad Pro can indeed be recharged
2 to 3 times faster
(depending on charging conditions)
using a Lightning to USB-C cable and a 29W adapter. If rumors
are confirmed, we hope for a similar gain for the iPhone 8.

Currently the iPhone is supplied for several years with
a 5 W adapter, however
according to our tests
, it is possible to charge the iPhone more quickly by
using a 10 or 12 Watt iPad charger.

If Apple changes to a USB-C adapter, that would also mean that there
would logically have a Lightning to USB-C cable in the iPhone 8 box,
which would allow it to be connected to a latest MacBook Pro without using a
adapter.

According to rumors from the production lines, the iPhone 8
would integrate a new L-shaped battery with a capacity of 2700 mAh and
would also come with wireless charging, however the latter would not be
not as fast as with the new wired charger.
