Apple's takeover of Shazam will have to be approved by European competition authorities

In
last December, Apple officially announcedthe buyout of the company
Shazamand its music recognition service, which has existed for
many years on iOS, but this acquisition will have to cross a
obstacle important.

Indeed, following a request from Austria, France, Italy, Sweden
and several other countries,the European Commission will evaluate this takeover
before approvalto see if it could have a harmful impact
on competition.

available here on the App Storehas existed since the beginnings of the App Store and
for many users it was the first app to cause an "effect
wow” at the time.

Over the years, the iOS app has received many improvements, such as an app
independent usable with the Apple Watch Series 3 even without an iPhone
proximity, or even since iOS 8 the possibility ofask
Siri to recognize a songvia Shazam.

It remains to be seen the verdict of the European Commission regarding this
acquisition, validation of the latter would allow Apple to move to
the next step by integrating, we imagine, Shazam functionalities
in iOS and Apple Music.
