According to severalold rumors, Apple planned to move to technology
OLED for iPhone screens in 2018. But according to a new report from the site
ChineseNikkei, Apple would shift into second gear and
would plan to launchan iPhone with OLED screen from the year
next.
Indeed, according to this report, the Cupertino company is ahead of its time
program, it would have started contacting its OLED screen suppliers that
are Samsung and LG to see if it would be possibleto increase the
production ratein order to market an iPhone with OLED screen
from 2017.
Apple originally wanted to introduce an OLED screen with a new design
curved in 2018, since the Cupertino company does not change the appearance of the iPhone
only once every two years, when the iPhone changes number (iPhone 5 >
iPhone 6, etc.).
The iPhone 7 should therefore offer a new design, the iPhone 7s in 2017
would probably keep the same, but with a change from LCD to
l’OLED.
Among the reasons given, concerning this acceleration by Apple of
the adoption of OLED for the iPhone, afirst hypothetical decline
iPhone salesin the next quarter is cited, and the firm of
Cupertino would like to generate more interest among the public by accelerating the
deployment of new technologies for the iPhone.
Remember that the OLED screen hasseveral advantagespar
compared to the current LCD screen of the iPhone, it isfiner,
less energy consuming, offers better black levels and
deeper, richer colors.
