The siteThe Elecensures that Apple is preparingMacBook Pro with OLED, but the devices in question would only be available by 2027.
OLED technology makes it possible to obtaindeeper blacksand blanks as close as possible to the negative, thanks to acontrastwell beyond the mini-LED systems found for example on MacBook Pros with M3 or M3 Pro chips. We also know that Cupertino also intends to unveil such benefits on some of its high-end tablets, namely the iPad Pro. We could even see these touch screens arriving as soon as this year. Let us remember that no iPad has seen the light of day in 2023, a first since the start of the range dating back to 2010.
There are already Apple devices that take advantage of the advantages of OLED, without requiring anyno backlightunlike mini-LED. On the mobile side, for example, the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro as well as the iPhone 15 Pro Max all feature a 6.1-inch or 6.7-inch OLED display. Connected watches are also entitled to this technology, such as the second generation Apple Watch SE. This collection is today the most affordable available new in the Apple Store, with an entry price placed below 300 euros (but without on-board 4G).
A new chip is also on the way, it seems
Alongside this new screen for the MacBook Pro, Apple is already thinking about its new chip for laptops. The M4 could notably feature a Neural Engine powered by artificial intelligence with thirty-two cores, while this component is limited to sixteen cores for the moment. An advantage perhaps also reserved for the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro, according torumorsshared very recently within our columns. As a reminder, last month, Samsung also announcedthe Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra, also equipped with AI features. Among these, we can notably cite the case of a transcription assistant, which transforms audio into text in order to summarize your meetings.
The Apple silicon program, the name given to the range of proprietary processors from the Apple firm, was announced during the Worldwide Developer Conference organized in June 2020. The first part then produced byTSMC, subcontractor from Cupertino, was the M1 presented at the end of the same year and first integrated under the hood of a Mac mini dedicated to third-party developers. Today, we are already at the M3 generation, available in the form of three chips of which the M3 Max is today the most powerful. We can only benefit from it on the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 14-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air today being satisfied with the M2 only. But the featherweights could also move to the latest generation in March or April, according to rumors that appeared recently.
When will we be able to discover these new MacBook Pro(s)?
There are three main periods each year during which Apple unveils new products.
The first is the one spreadingfrom March to early May, when the iPhone SE 2 was released, for example. In 2023, we are expecting the iPad Pro M3 and therefore the MacBook Air with the same chip. It is not uncommon to discover laptops at this time, such as the old 13-inch MacBook Air with Retina screen which arrived in stores in March 2020. Laptops are not, however, the rule at this time; we will therefore give it a probability score of 5/10 for the arrival of the MacBook Pro OLED in 2027.
The Worldwide Developer Conference, for its part, is therefore organized inJuneevery year. But we ultimately discover products relatively rarely, in favor of new features concerning the iOS or macOS operating systems. Probability: 4/10. Finally, know that it is especially during the third quarter keynote that Apple presents its main new products. And more precisely, inseptember. Since 2020, however, events have also been organized inoctober. Probability for the end of the year: 8.5/10, according to the history of the Apple firm.
