After the Vision Pro, what is Apple preparing?

Apple is now a player in the mixed reality space. In fact, the helmetVision Prowhich he presented in 2023 is already marketed, even in France. Unfortunately, the success of this big new Apple product is currently mixed. Indeed, the starting price of $3,499 in the United States, and 3,999 euros in France, is far too high, even for Apple customers. But the good news is that the Cupertino company is already preparing a more affordable version of this headset, which should attract more customers. And in his latest newsletter, Mark Gurman, journalist at Bloomberg, corroborates these rumors.

An affordable version in 2025?

As reported by the site 9to5Mac, the journalist indicates that Apple is working on a cheaper version of the Vision Pro, which could be launched in 2025. But for the moment, we do not know precisely how Apple intends to proceed to lower the costs of production. However, according to Gurman, if this affordable version costs more than $1,500 in the United States, it may also have difficulty convincing the general public. Otherwise, Apple would also continue to work on a Vision Pro 2 headset, contrary to what other sources indicate. However, Gurman is less specific about this.

Glasses would also be in the pipeline

In addition to the two mixed reality headsets, Apple is also working on a new form factor: connected glasses. However, these would not be augmented reality glasses like Google Glass, but a product similar to the glasses marketedby Meta and Ray Ban.Unfortunately, we would still have to wait a few years for Apple to manage to develop augmented reality glasses capable of providing the functionalities of the Vision Pro in a compact format.
