WidgetPod improves Spotify and Apple Music widgets

Since the launch of the latest version of iOS, thecustomisationis at its maximum on iPhones.Widgetsmith, for example, convinces more and more users looking for quick control options, without necessarily having to leave the home screen of their mobile. Even the most popular publishers are also starting to offer tools like this, like Google mailbox.

Unfortunately, some players who are well established on the App Store continue to fail to provide this solution. This is particularly the case of the Swedish music streaming platformSpotify. Indeed, its widget is only limited to easy access to playlists, artists, albums or podcasts played recently. Suffice to say that few use it, unlike the Android version which allows you to move to the next or previous sound and pause the track.

At the price of a coffee

This is wherel’application WidgetPodintervenes. Created by developer Aditya Rajveer, it allows you to add a Spotify player alongside your other app icons. The only downside: you have to pay the sum of2,29 eurosto take advantage of it. But at this price, you will also be able to benefit from more customization choices and data synchronization with iCloud.

The good news, however, is that forApple Music, it's free! Two sizes are offered, and a dark mode can match that of the device. Each action is then defined manually, including:

  • open WidgetPod
  • access settings
  • open Apple Music
  • listen to the following music
  • listen to previous music

Other features

The widget can also display, on request, the title of the track currently playing, the name of the artist who produced it or even that of the album which contains it. The image of the latter is also customizable. This way, and especially if your library is well organized, you will probably spend less time on Spotify or Apple Music: good for increasing productivity.

You can also testthe competing serviceTuneTrack, which offers more or less the same value and at the same price, even if a version at 5.49 euros and another at 10.99 euros are also available.
