WWDC: no hardware announcements at the conference?

With just hours until WWDC 2020 kicks off, speculation is still going strong regarding what Apple will choose to present to the public. Some people even sense burst announcements and we think in particular of the presentation mentioned in our columns of anew iMac. Others imagine a new HomePod, or even new AirTags.

“I would love to be wrong”

Except that all of this might very well not happen at all. This is precisely the point of view expressed onTwitterby Jon Prosser, Apple insider used to shocking revelations about the Apple brand:

Looks like hardware announcements won't be happening at WWDC tomorrow. Maybe I'm wrong. I would love to be wrong. Like all of you, I would be surprised if that happened.

The analyst seems certain in any case that Apple will take advantage of the event to announce the switch of Macs toARM processors. «You will hear about ARM, that's for sure!»

This year's meeting should once again be an opportunity for Apple to make numerous software announcements. We could therefore learn a lot more about the next versions of macOS, iOS/iPadOS, tvOS and watchOS. As for the material announcements, we only have a few more hours to wait to be confirmed.

In the meantime, you can findour guideto follow this evening's event as best as possible.
