WhileWWDC 2022 opening conference ended Monday evening, the discussions between Apple and the developers have not ended. In fact, all week long the Cupertino company will take advantage of the presence of developers and journalists in Apple Park to present the new features of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura and WatchOS 9.
After a first day focused around iOS 16 and WatchOS 9, Apple presented at length iPadOS 16, Apple's brand new software solution for its tablets. Going into much more technical detail than during Monday's presentation conference.
Apple has notably provided information on the new features accessible with SwiftUI or even of this WWDC.
APIs at the center of discussions
In general, we can thus mention Shared with You, App Intents and Live Activity which should allow access to features such as sharing live content, automatic creation of shortcuts or even sharing your physical activity from the Apple Watch to third-party applications.
As a reminder, users who wish can already install the beta version of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and WatchOS 9 on the sole condition of having a developer account with Apple. For the public beta, you will have to wait a few weeks, it should be available during the month of July.
For the final version, we will have to wait until the fall and the release of the new iPhones at the beginning of September. This event often triggers the release of final versions of iOS, iPadOS and WatchOS updates. According to initial expectations, the next iPhones should be entitled to a new size notch, called “pill”.
