Performance
One of the first things to check when choosing a web host is its performance. Indeed, to be optimal, your hosting must allow fast loading of your site, but also maximum availability and good security settings.
So, what does GoDaddy offer you in this regard? This is what we will see in the first part of our review dedicated to this host.
Availability and speed
The first thing we looked at was the availability of GoDaddy hosting. This availability is expressed in the form of a rate, called uptime. This percentage reflects the site uptime. The rates observed with GoDaddy are very good: close to 100%. This is a first positive element in our opinion on and host.
However, if sites hosted with GoDaddy are very available, what about their loading speed? Unfortunately, we are not so enthusiastic about this parameter. In fact, the page loading speed observed with sites hosted by GoDaddy is much higher than with other hosts.
This negative point lowers our opinion on the performance of this host. The user experience of your visitors risks being very negatively impacted, and this is what emerges in the majority of feedback from GoDaddy users.
As you will have understood, despite good uptime, our opinion about the performance offered by GoDaddy is quite mixed.
Security
To go further in terms of the performance of the GoDaddy host, we looked at the security it puts in place. For your visitors, GoDaddy offers you the possibility of acquiring an SSL certificate. However, be careful because it is not systematically offered with your accommodation.
If you are looking for a host that systematically offers you an SSL certificate, you canget interested in the leader Hostinger. With GoDaddy, you will therefore have to check that you have this certificate, or pay to acquire it (between €67 and €240 per year, depending on the number of sites).

Then, in terms of the security of your hosting, GoDaddy offers you anti-DDoS protection, to protect you against denial of service attacks. Finally, at the level of your account, GoDaddy allows you to set up a double authentication system to reduce the possibilities of hacking.
Clearly, our opinion on GoDaddy's security settings is quite nuanced. Indeed, the host offers both interesting features such as double authentication or anti-DDoS protection, but also displays a major flaw in terms of SSL certificates. However, this parameter is crucial for any web hosting.
L’interface GoDaddy
In the rest of our review of the GoDaddy web host, we will look at its interface and its use. Indeed, if you want to manage your hosting efficiently, you must have a simple and intuitive interface.
Getting started
The first impression that GoDaddy's interface gave us was rather positive. Indeed, your administration panel is quite clear and uncluttered. However, all the essential functions answer the call. So, in just a few clicks, you can:
- Manage your domain names: link them, buy them, sell them
- Search for domain names and access domain brokerage services
- Manage your accommodation settings and view their status (used space, etc.)
- Take care of your websites and SSL certificates
As you will have understood, our opinion about the GoDaddy interface is quite positive. However, even if everything seems to be at hand to manage your hosting, some user feedback regrets that it is not more understandable for beginners.

Regardless, our opinion of it remains quite positive. To go further in the use of GoDaddy, we will now focus on the host's customer support.
Support client
Customer support is an essential element to take into consideration when choosing your host. The latter will be your only recourse in the event of a problem, so he must be easily reachable and very competent.
At first glance, GoDaddy's customer support seems pretty good. The latter can be reached by telephone during the day and weekdays, but also has a ticket system and an extensive FAQ fully translated into French.
However, there are several shadows on the table. Indeed, the telephone line is not reachable on weekends, which can be annoying. Also, if we refer to user comments, technicians do not always provide satisfactory answers.
As a result, your problem may persist. You will therefore easily understand that our opinion about GoDaddy customer support is quite average. This is all the more regrettable since this support is a very important criterion for choosing a good web host.
The offers
In order to present our opinion on GoDaddy to you in the most exhaustive way possible, we will describe the main offers offered by this host.
Web hosting
This hosting offer is the most common. This is ashared web hosting, suitable for beginners and compatible with the main CMS. You can take advantage of this hosting with one of the following four subscriptions.
- Economy. This plan will cost you €4.79 per month and offers you the basic features of the host. You will therefore be limited to a single website and your storage will only be 100GB.
- Deluxe. With this offer priced at €5.99 per month, you increase your possibilities. You will indeed be able to benefit from an unlimited number of websites, but also from infinite storage space.
- Ultimate. To go further, this subscription offers you greater performance and an unlimited number of databases. It will cost you €9.59 per month.
- Maximum. This offer is the most advanced in this range of hosting. For €15.59 per month, you will have optimal performance to manage an unlimited number of websites.
In all of these plans, you will have the opportunity to take advantage of a free domain name. But if you want to focus more specifically on WordPress, GoDaddy has also thought of you.
WordPress Hosting
Like a certain number of web hosts, GoDaddy offers you a hosting offer specially dedicated to the use of the famous WordPress CMS. There are three possibilities here.
© GoDaddy
- Basic. With this subscription, you can host a website and you have access to 30GB of storage. It will cost you €4.79 per month.
- Deluxe. To go further, you can access 75 GB of storage and SEO optimization tools thanks to the Deluxe offer. Still valid for a single website, this solution is offered at €5.99 per month.
- Ultimate. This offer presents the best quality/price ratio, with superior services for €15.59 per month. For example, you will have unlimited storage and number of visits.
As you will have understood, these subscriptions are clearly aimed at people wishing to manage sites with WordPress. If you want to findthe best web hosts for WordPress are here.
WordPress E-Commerce Hosting
The offers for WordPress at GoDaddy go a little further, by offering a hosting offer adapted to WooCommerce, the e-commerce plugin of the famous CMS. This solution is priced at €17.99 per month.
With this subscription, you will be able to open an online store with WooCommerce in an assisted manner. Your storage and visits are not limited, and you have SEO optimization tools at your disposal. You can also benefit from a free domain name or even professional messaging.
So far, our feelings about the offers offered by GoDaddy are quite confused. Indeed, even if the offers appear qualitative and the prices correct, the latter skyrocket after renewal of the subscription.
The prices are therefore much less attractive, or even more expensive than the competition. Our position on the prices charged by GoDaddy is therefore quite mixed at this stage of our opinion.
Pro Web Hosting
In its pricing offer, GoDaddy also thinks about professionals. So, if you want to create a professional site, you can opt for one of the following four subscriptions.
- Launch. This hosting plan has been designed to create several websites, with fairly basic functionalities. For example, you will have access to 60 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. The traffic will be unlimited, just like your databases, for a monthly price of €20.39.
- Improvement. This offer increases the capacities of your hosting, for a monthly price of €26.39. Here you will be able to have 90 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. Additionally, you will have two processors instead of just one.
- Development. Designed for e-commerce sites, this subscription is offered from €34.79 per month. Thanks to it, you will have the possibility of using 120 GB of storage or even 6 GB of RAM and three processors.
- Extension. If you want to create a resource-intensive website, this plan at €51.59 per month is the one you should turn to. Here you will have 150 GB of storage, 8 GB of RAM and four processors.
We particularly appreciate GoDaddy's desire to meet the needs of professionals. However, these offers seem quite limited to meet the sometimes significant needs of this category of customers.
VPS Hosting
If you want to be able to adjust your hosting because you think your project will evolve, VPS hosting is for you. GoDaddy offers several.
© GoDaddy
- 1 virtual processor, for €5.99 per month. With this offer, you will have access to a 1-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, but also 20 GB of SSD storage.
- 2 virtual processors, accessible for €21.59 monthly. Here, the capacities of your hosting are increased to reach: a 2-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage.
- 4 virtual processors. This plan is offered at €43.19 per month. Here you can configure your server with the following characteristics: a 4-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and 200 GB of SSD storage.
- 8 virtual processors, available for €74.39 per month. This is the most advanced offering in the VPS field at GoDaddy, with an 8-core processor, 16 GB of RAM and 400 GB of SSD storage.
Alongside these offers, GoDaddy offers you identical solutions, with the difference that they have more RAM. They are called “high RAM” and increase the available RAM, as well as the price of these subscriptions.
Dedicated server
Dedicated server offers at GoDaddy are mainly aimed at professionals with significant needs. Indeed, given the capacities of these servers and the prices charged, these solutions are clearly not suitable for individuals. So you will have the choice between several offers.
- DS-32, which gives you access to 32 GB of RAM
- DS-64, for 64 GB of RAM
- DS-128, which gives you 128 GB of RAM
- DS-256, with 256 GB of RAM
These subscriptions are all accessible in two versions: HDD or NVMe SSD. The difference lies in the storage method and the price. Indeed, SSD storage being more efficient, it is also more expensive. Thus, the prices of dedicated servers at GoDaddy range between €119.99 per month for the cheapest and €467.99 for the most expensive.
As you will have understood, overall, the prices charged by GoDaddy seem high to us, especially after renewing your subscription. As a result, our general opinion about the offers offered by the latter is quite mixed.
Additional information
In order to complete our review dedicated to the web host GoDaddy, we would like to bring some additional information to your attention.
Purchasing domain names
Like the majority of web hosts, GoDaddy offers you the possibility of purchasing domain names. Before your purchase, you can check the availability of your domain, and you have a very large choice of extensions.
© GoDaddy
The prices are quite attractive, for a large number of extensions. As an example, here are some of the prices offered:
- ".fr" at €1
- “.com” at €9.77
- “.site” at €1.16
It is important to pay attention to these possibilities, because the domain names offered with your hosting are unfortunately only valid for the first year of your subscription. This is quite annoying and contributes to our fairly average opinion on this subject.
Money Back Guarantee
When you subscribe to a GoDaddy offer, you have a 30-day withdrawal period. This money-back guarantee is valid on all subscriptions offered by the host and you must contact customer support to benefit from it. However, while this seems like a good point on paper, there is one element that GoDaddy does not highlight.
In fact, if you subscribe for less than a year, you only have 48 hours to turn around, which can play tricks on you. In addition, foreign customers (non-French) do not have the same deadline, which can also trap some.
For example, UK customers have 14 days and Brazilian customers only 7 days. As you will have understood, if GoDaddy's money-back guarantee makes a good impression in theory, in reality, it is far from qualitative.
For hosting without bad surprises at this level, you can for example choose to trust a host such asPlanetHoster, much more transparent.
Website builder
To offer you the most complete service possible, GoDaddy offers you the possibility of using a site creator. This integrated tool is accessible online, and supports you in the creation of your website.
GoDaddy Site Builder © iPhon
The trial is free and the features are quite satisfactory. However, this wizard is really designed for beginners, and the possibilities it offers you are quite limited. In addition, it is clearly not as qualitative as what can be found for example atJimdo, whose main activity is the creation of sites.
Our opinion about the GoDaddy site creator is therefore quite nuanced.
Professional messaging
Among the solutions offered by GoDaddy, there is also the management of professional mailboxes. You can therefore opt for this host for your mailboxes, several choices are available to you.
- Basic messaging. With this offer, your professional mailbox will have 10 GB of storage. In addition, the latter will correspond to your domain. This offer is available at €2.99 per month per user.
- Messaging Plus. Priced at €4.79 per month per user, this offer retains the properties of the previous one, but increases your storage to 50 GB.
- BusinessPremium. This solution is recommended by GoDaddy, and offered at €10.79 per month per user. The options available in this offer are as follows: 50 GB of email storage, 1 TB of secure online storage and the latest version of Office installed as a bonus on 5 devices.
Our opinion on professional mailboxes hosted by GoDaddy is overall quite bad. In fact, these offers are only valid for a single mailbox and the prices are quite high.
When we know that this can be much more advantageous with GoDaddy's direct competitors, this does not make us want to engage with this host.
Conclusion: our opinion on GoDaddy
Our review dedicated to the web host GoDaddy is coming to an end. We have tried to be as comprehensive as possible and therefore hope that this article has answered all your questions. To summarize our opinion on GoDaddy, we can say that it is quite mixed.
Indeed, although this host has certain strong points, these are not enough to compensate for its shortcomings. Among the advantages of GoDaddy, we can cite that the availability rate offered by this host is quite good, and also that the accommodation offered is diverse, so as to meet everyone's needs.
However, we also noted a number of shortcomings. For example, we've noticed that GoDaddy has some pretty disappointing loading speeds. Also, the customer support does not seem up to par and the prices after renewal are far too high in relation to the service provided.
Either way, it's up to you to decide whether this host can suit your needs.
