Apple wants to adopt a new SIM card format, Orange and the operators follow

According to the Reuters agency, the head of
services mobiles d’OrangeAnne Bouverot said she was “happy”
after Apple submitted a request fornew card format
SIMto the European telecommunications standardization authority
(ETSI).

Ms. Bouverot specifies that Orange and othersoperators are in
accordwith this initiative, the implementation of which would be expected
next year. No comments from ETSI or Apple.
We knew that Apple was looking toreduce sizeof all
components for phonesalways finer. Il
had also been considered to directly graft the chip to the telephone which
of course dissatisfied the operators (see

help Applein its approach to ETSI!
