In Surrey, an English county south of London, a motoristwas saved thanks to his Apple Watch. Victim of an accident on an isolated road, the motorist was lucky that her watch remained intact and above all that she had the reflex to call for help.
The least we can say is that the local police services were surprised by this call, they even tweeted for the occasion tagging Tim Cook and Apple.
Last week we responded to an automated Apple Watch fall detection alert after a driver that was involved in a collision had been knocked unconscious.
The alarm provided emergency responders with GPS data to quickly locate the scene.

Whether it is fall detection or the electrocardiogram, the new functions integrated into the Apple Watch are very useful and have already saved many people. Last June, in a similar case, an 87-year-old woman from Maine, United States, was the victim of a car accident. Fortunately, she received help quickly after her Apple Watch detected the accident and called emergency services.
Coming back to the accident in Surrey, the police managed to trace the victim using the GPS integrated into the Apple Watch.
