Rumors concerning a future television from Apple are not new
from yesterday. We started talking about itin this
billetwhere we spoke to you about a possiblefuture connected iTV
sous iOS.
The very recent release of the
biography of Steve Jobsrevived the subject since he indicated that he was working
on afuture simple and elegant connected TV(cf
This item).
Recently, it is
NewYork Timesrelayed by
MacRumorswhich revives the rumor by adding the voice assistantSIRIappeared with theiOS 5and reserved
for the moment atiPhone
4S:
A voice-controlled television is an old dream and appeared especially
in science fiction works.
However, as Nick Bilton of the New York Times reports, citing sources
anonymous, Apple would work on afuture television made in Apple
connected and which as a remote control could be directed by voice to the
way of voice assistant Siri.
We can immediately imagine (dream) asking our TV orally: “launch
the PSG – OM football match” or “find me a cartoon for a child of 5
years", "a musical show" or even "show me the date and time of
next episode of Dr. House" then "schedule me a recording for this
episode", etc...
Bilton firmly believes that the TV will be released betweenend of 2012 and
early 2013even if he recognizes that Apple still has work to do
is working in particular on the physical design especially since Apple has the reputation
that we know in terms of design. He also cites the fact that the display
in itself will have a certain cost for Apple which will have to be taken into account
to offer iTV at a reasonable price.
In conclusion, for him, the question to ask regarding this project, this
is not "if" but only "when"!
What do you think? What would you ask Siri TV?
