The autonomy of the iPhone has never been its strong point and the improvements
ever more advanced techniques and applications do not improve the
things.
The prop makers have also understood this well by offering numerous
battery casesand we have
Besidestested several
models.
Now, researchers at the University of Cambridge might just
make life much easier by developinga film to put on the screen
which could recover the lost energy to send it back to the
battery.
Discovery:
The team of researchers at the University of Cambridge, led by Fellow
Arokia Nathan, worked on a prototype screen film capable of
recover the energy lost by the screen of our iDevice.
We are talking about wasted energy becauseonly 36% of energy
supplied is used for display, which still gives us
64% energy lost, a huge waste.
The film invented by these researchers is made up of photovoltaic cells
which will recover part of this energy to send it back to the
battery.
For the moment, this system has a limit which is locatedbetween 11%
and 18% in terms of recovery, which is already very encouraging
even if the researchers have not said their last word, far from it.
It must be recognized that this innovative project opens a new path very
promising especially since this method would be quite ecological and completely
transparent to the user.
What do you think? Would you be willing to buy this type of accessories
if, and we very much hope so, this film one day enters the phase of
production ?
