The Apple streaming platform has announced a new season for one of its flagship series:Slow Horses. The latter wasnominated five times for the BAFTA Awardsand has already alreadyreceived an Oscar. It is particularly recognized for its excellent script, as well as the performances of the actors. Among them, Gary Oldman, playing the role of Jackson Lamb, head of MI5 (English secret service) agents.
This is the fifth season for the spy series, which as a reminder is “adapted from the next novel in the Mick Herron book series “Slough House”», as Cupertino specifies in its press release published on January 2.
Apple's original creation followsa dysfunctional team of British Secret Service agentss. The cast includes renowned actors such as Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves and Jonathan Pryce. THEfirst three seasons are also available on Apple TV+, whilethe fourth is expected for 2024. Apple has also not communicated a release date for the fifth.
Apple is full of praise for it
To announce the new season of its series, Apple goes all out and cites the praise it has receivedSlow Horsesfrom various film critics. The latter described the Apple TV+ exclusivity as being“undoubtedly the best spy series on television”, «powerful, funny and conspiratorial" with "excellent writing and performances».
Between Mysteries and Mistrusts in London
This new season brings with it many twists and turns, including the arrival of the mysterious girlfriend of Roddy Ho, the team's nerd. A succession of unusual and disturbing events taking place in London will then lead the Slow Horses to investigate these mysteries.
