Since the end of last year, various French banks have been “accelerating” the adoption of Apple Pay. In recent months, we can count HSBC France, BNP Paribas, Banque Postale, Revolut and Banque Casino joining the list of French banks compatible with Apple Pay.
Last June, the largest French bank in terms of number of customers, Crédit Agricole and its subsidiary LCL, announced the upcoming arrival of Apple Pay. The Credit Agricole Twitter account responded to a customer on Twitter that this will happen “in the coming months».
Bonjour,
That's it, Crédit Agricole has signed with Apple Pay. ?The secure solution, respectful of your privacy and your personal data, will be available in the coming months.
Good day,
Camille— Crédit Agricole (@CreditAgricole)November 18, 2019
According to this response, Crédit Agricole has finally signed with Apple Pay, in order to bring Apple's mobile payment solution to its customers in the coming months. For its subsidiary LCL, Apple Pay will not arrive before next year.
Between them, Crédit Agricole and LCL have a total of 31 million customers in France, making them the largest French bank. The arrival of Apple Pay for customers of both establishments should therefore allow the adoption rate of Apple Pay to take a leap forward in France. For Crédit Mutuel, the arrival of Apple Pay is more vague.
