Apple TV+: what are the best new series of 2024? Here are our top 4

It’s an understatement to say that 2024 was rich in quality creations on Apple TV+. As always, the Apple brand remains very discreet about the audiences for these productions so that it is difficult to measure their popularity. But, let's not shy away from our pleasure, here are the 4 series that made our hearts beat on the streaming platform this year.

Sugar

Here we followthe adventuresby John Sugar, a private detective who investigates the disappearance of Olivia Siegel, a young resident of Los Angeles who has not given any sign of life for two weeks.

At first glance, we think we are dealing with a fairly classic thriller that gives pride of place to the golden age of Hollywood. But, little by little, the story gains momentum and becomes more complex until it completely disconcerts the viewer. We let you savor this little gem.

Criminal Record

TheBritish seriesbegins with a mysterious phone call made in the middle of the London night. A young woman claims to be in great danger and awakens an old case that is around ten years old.

June Lenker (Cush Jumbo), a young police officer, takes matters into her own hands. But while investigating, she ends up realizing that another representative of the law, Daniel Hegarty (Peter Capaldi) may have made a mistake in the past. This is the start of a duel between the two law enforcement officers which will reveal big surprises.

Presumed Innocent

It is hereof a fictionadapted from the eponymous book released in 1987. The latter had already been brought to the screen in a film by Alan J. Pakula with Harrison Ford. We follow the daily life of Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal) who is the chief deputy district attorney of Chicago and works under the orders of Raymond Horgan (Bill Camp). Everything is going well in his life and he is in perfect love with his wife Barbara, played by Ruth Negga.

His life is completely turned upside down following the assassination of Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve), another rising star in the prosecutor's office. The case is entrusted to Rusty but we learn that the latter had a romantic relationship with the victim. The plot thickens over time and includes new features that will surprise anyone who knows the original story.
