The opening last spring of the App Store to competition will have changed a lot of things in Europe. One of the big winners from this new regulation is undoubtedly the developer Ridley Testut. Creator of the famous and popular Delta emulator, he launched his own application store, a competing solution to the App Store. With the AltStore PAL, it offers many applications for iPhone and iPad users. If the most famous are of its creation, the application store is gradually opening up to other services, produced by other independent developers.
Since this weekend, this is particularly the case for torrent applications. They are welcome on the PAL AltStore and can therefore be downloaded in Europe. As a reminder, these services essentially allow data to be transferred in P2P (peer to peer).
Two torrent apps have arrived
With the arrival of AltStore PAL update 2.1, four new applications have arrived on the Ridley Testut application store. Among them, two specialize in torrent technology. This is the case for iTorrent and qBitControl. These two applications are however not free, you can download them only after paying a subscription of two euros per month.
As a reminder, the AltStore is also a paid solution. In order to control the arrival of “basic technology fees” a new commission put in place by Apple to limit the arrival of other players on the market, the AltStore PAL is a paying solution, up to 1.80 euro per year. It's a small amount, but it can still deter users from having to checkout before even using a product.
A dating app and emulator
As we told you above, update 2.1 of the AltStore PAL allowed four new applications to arrive in the store. In addition to the two paid torrent services, a dating application (PeopleDrop) and a new emulator, this time, for old PCs (UTM SE) have just arrived in the number 1 competitor of the App Store.
All of these services could soon be eclipsed by Fortnite. The mobile game, among the most famous of all time, should arrive in the AltStore in the coming weeks.
