New public beta of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16

Apple has deployed thefourth public betaof tvOS 16, watchOS 9, iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 with a notable change for iPhones. These are in fact now capable, when energy saving mode is activated, ofhide battery percentageindicated in the associated icon which is back in the status bar sincethe previous version of the operating system. In iOS 16 beta 3, this was impossible: the digital indicator was necessarily displayed here. We also note that the Stage Manager interface on iPadOS 16 beta 4 is improving a little.

iOS 16 beta 6arrived yesterday evening for developers, before quickly being followed by public beta 4. Ditto for iPadOS 16. This strange numbering can be explained because Apple reserved the first two betas for developers who, as we recall, must have a dedicated App Store account and pay 99 euros per year to have access.

No major change

Apple did not specify whether new features were included here, however we note that manybug fixesare. For iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 beta 4 (version number:20A5349b) for example, the publisher has resolved the issue that prevented devices equipped with the two previous betas from being compatible with the very first ones.

Apple TVs (20J5366a) and Apple Watches (20R5353a) can also be updated to Developer Beta 6 or Public Beta 4 of tvOS 16 and watchOS 9, respectively.

How to install a beta properly?

Here isthe procedure to follow to test a beta version of iOS on your mobile. Keep in mind that you may encounter technical problems; therefore avoid carrying out the maneuver on an iPhone with which you are working.

As for the final version, know that it is planned for this “autumn” according to Apple, with a keynote that rumors announce for Tuesday, September 6. The iPhone 14, which would be revealed at the same time, will run basic with this program, all of the new features of which were announced during the Worldwide Developer Conference in June. On the menu: more confidentiality, modification of a sent message or even a better Concentration mode.
