WhatsApp: an independent iPad and Mac version on the way

Among the most used iPhone applications, in the top 5, we can mention the cross-platform messaging app, WhatsApp, which has more than 1 billion users worldwide. Compared to iMessage, this app has the advantage of working on multiple platforms, and not just on Apple products.

For years, iPad users have been asking for a tablet version, allowing them to continue their conversations on their iPad. And their wishes could soon be granted. According to the WABetainfo site, WhatsApp has been working for some time on an independent version for iPad, but also for Mac.

WhatsApp already has a Mac app, but it requires a wireless connection to the iPhone to work, whether to receive or send messages, it must go through the phone.

But the new Mac version would now be truly independent, and would get rid of the connection to the iPhone. The same goes for the new iPad app, which we hope will intelligently exploit the tablet's larger screen surface.

These apps will use a new cross-platform system, which offers all the advantages of the iPhone version, such as encrypted communications, read receipts, and others, but on other devices.
