In Bordeaux, Bouygues Telecom is testing 5G, in real conditions

For some time
already, the first 5G tests have started in different countries around the world including
France with Orange which has carried out several laboratory tests, and the authority
of telecoms regulations announced that 5G will be testedin 9 cities

from 2020.

Orange is not the only operator involved, since Bouygues Telecom
has just launched a program oftest of 5G in conditions

in the city ofBordeaux.

This future standard is intended to replace the current 4G with speeds
capable of reaching 10 Gbps and which will enable new uses such as
remote control of vehicles, simultaneous transmission of several streams
live 4K video, and many others.

A first flow test was carried out with an observed downward flow of

Very low latency of 7.5 ms.

Bouygues uses equipment from Huawei in its test program
which are similar to those which will be implemented in the deployment
5G workforce.

Bouygues Telecom plans to launch its 5G offer at the same time as the others
operatorsin 2020with initially a cover
for areas with high populations such as cities.

At the same time, to encourage the creation of new uses around 5G,
Bouygues announced the creation of the SmartX_5G Accelerator, which will bring together
all Bouygues group initiatives in this area.
