Update March 25, 2023: The app in question, named 5 Movies, has just appeared on the App Store. It was therefore approved by the Apple teams managing the iOS application store. This is probably the first iPhone application “developed” by ChatGPT.

Morten Just, a Twitter user, has just published a series of tweets in which we can discover the orders to give to ChatGPT so that the service creates an app on demand. And not just any one, since it is a question here of aiOS application, taking into account the directives imposed by Applein terms of design. The result is not only functional, but also runs without a hitch onXcode, the developer working environment designed by Cupertino for those who want to release clients for iPhone.

It would have been necessaryfix some bugs, but here too it was actually ChatGPT who took care of it after some reprimands from the creator. This is not the first time that artificial intelligence has been used in this way; many coders already use it regularly to check the integrity of their production. What Morten Just wanted to imagine here is an app that iscapable of automatically recommending five new movies to its user, every day. With not only a quick description of the footage, but also a trailer and a link to view the content.

The buttons in question redirect to services likeDisney+, Netflix ou encore Paramount+. A relatively eclectic selection therefore, which will not fail to be unanimous among the followers of pluralism that may be the legislators who closely scrutinize Apple's activities. The firm is in fact regularly singled out for putting too much emphasis on its own products through its apps, such as when Shazam invites you to listen to a song in full on Apple Music.
