A few days ago, Apple presented itsnew MacBook Air. The latter has the particularity of integrating a new keyboard: theMagic Keyboardas the Californian firm calls it, with keys using a so-called “scissor” mechanism. After years of problems with the previous generation of keyboards, with butterfly keys, the MacBook Air, like the new MacBook Pro 16″, should now offer improved typing, and above all be less prone to keyboard failures.
There is a laptop from Apple which is still not part of the Magic Keyboard club with scissor keys, it is the 13-inch model. But according to the newspaper Digitimes and its sources close to Apple subcontractors, it would only be a matter of months.
Indeed, the giant's Californian suppliers are currently in the midst of producing scissor key keyboards, with output rates increasing from week to week. It is notably a question of providing the next generation of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, but also the Magic Keyboard for the newiPad Pro 11 and 12.9 inches.
On the other hand, we should give up on a 14-inch MacBook Pro model for the moment. The 13.3-inch panel would still be there, at least for the next generation with a scissor keyboard.
Perhaps next year we will be entitled to a 14-inch MacBook Pro model, withhomemade ARM processor.
