Most current smartphones which
are moving towards an edge-to-edge screen on the sides all have a border
lower than necessary for the display to function. This part hosts
usually the screen controller...except in the case ofiPhone X.
Indeed, Apple has come up with an ingenious solution to eliminate
this bottom border, usingat least one OLED screen
partially flexible, as can be quickly seen in the image
below :
In the image in question we can see that the lower part of the screen
flexible OLEDcurls back on itself, which allows
position the controller just behind the OLED displayau
instead of embedding it at the bottom of the screen, on a lower border, as is
the case on other smartphones.
We can see the difference by looking at a comparison in
image ofupper and lower borders of the main
smartphoneshigh-end of the market, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note
8, Huawei Mate 10, iPhone X, LG V30 and Google Pixel 2:
We immediately notice the characteristic and signature notch of the last
Apple's flagship smartphone, which allows you to identify an iPhone in the blink of an eye
X, while other smartphones all look the same and display the same
border at the bottom of the screen.
