WhatsApp rolled out an update to its iOS app on Wednesdaybringing a major novelty, which only its competitorTelegramproposed so far. It is aboutthe ability to format your text messages, in order to give them style.
In a note published in its frequently asked questions, the branch ofMetaspecifies that the new formatting is only offered on iOS,Android, and on the Web, and that it can be deactivated at any time if necessary.
It is therefore possible to format text in italics or bold, between quotation marks, or to strike it out. Moreover,WhatsAppnow allows you to change the font of the text, but as onTelegram, WhatsApp only offers one option here, it is the “Hunting” font. The upgrade also adds bulleted lists, as well as numbered lists. For technical profiles, it is even possible to integrate code into your messages.
How to do it?
To give style to your messagesWhatsAppin the iPhone application, two options are available to you. You can first choose todouble-tap the piece of textthat you want to format, then clickFormat to select the desired style.The second option is to place a sign before and after your message. It's like putting a text in quotation marks but with other signs. For example, to make it bold, you must put your text between asterisks.

To italicize your text, put an underscore on either side of the text, as follows:

To cross out text, put a tilde on either side of the text, as follows:
