THErevelations
regarding the Titan project, an autonomous electric car created and
marketed by Apple, are more and more numerous, breaking with the
secrecy that usually surrounded Apple's innovative projects.
Today, Bloomberg returns to the subject by sharing
the internal objective of the Apple brand for the marketing of the iCar,
while 9To5Mac paints a portrait ofthe team that has already joined
Appleto manage this challenge:
Regarding the first turns of the wheel, we suspected it, we must not
not expect to come across an Apple automobile on the roads before 5
ans. So,
Bloomberg takes its sourcesthat the objective set by Apple for its team,
expected to increase to 1000 people, would be a start of production
in2020.
For the record, it isLast June, less than a year ago
that the start of this project would have been given. This is of course extremely
ambitious for several reasons.
The first is thetotal lack of experience of Apple in the
domaine, the second is that the challenge concerns a set of
new technologies namelyelectric, potentially
sprinkled withautonomous driving. Let's add alevel
Apple requirementregarding the expected result, this one
even which must mean that we still haven't seen an Apple TV, still placed
very high... Finally, we will not forget in passing that the development time
of a new vehicle from a traditional manufacturer, accustomed to the field and
equipped accordingly, isfive to seven yearsusually
…
But Tim Cook's company has taken the challenge head on and surrounded itself with
specialists who will make it possible to set up a substantial team.
La team Apple Car
We recently saw that Apple was
particularly interested in recruiting Tesla employees,
but alsoIn
the field of batteries.
The 9to5Mac websitejust published
icia long list of automotive specialists who have joined Apple
in recent months. Profiles go way beyond simple development
CarPlay extension software, because they are specialists for some of the
mechanical field who joined Apple.
We find in this gallery of portraits several ex-Teslas,ex
A123 Systems as seen here thanks to a complaint, specialists
arrived from Ford and other subcontractors in the field. Also listed
Apple veterans who worked on the iPod in particular.
The team is therefore already at work in the Apple stands and will have to
grow rapidly to meet objectives.
We can imagine that a shortcut consisting of buying Tesla could have been
taken, this cannot be done... But who knows if the paths do not
won't cross paths quickly?
